Attention Seniors:  University Scholarship deadlines are approaching. Most colleges have a deadline of February 1 for their general scholarships. Deadlines will vary according to colleges. Submit your application on-line!!

  • Cameron University: Cameron University makes it easy to apply for all institutional scholarships.  All you need to do is submit the General Scholarship Application online.  Complete all parts of the application and submit online.  You will be considered for all Cameron scholarships and tuition waivers.  Your application will be forwarded to the department of your major. An early application substantially improves chances for a scholarship award.  Priority deadline is February 1.  Scholarship applications received after the priority deadline will be considered only if funds are available. Cameron University PLUS Scholarship FINAL deadline - February 1 (Need ACT score of 24 or higher)
     
  • Southwestern Oklahoma State University: There are a variety of scholarship opportunities available in several categories: (1) Academic Scholarships, (2) Athletic Scholarships, (3) Talent-Based Scholarships, and (4) Southwestern Oklahoma State Regents Scholarships. We’re also happy to accept financial awards earned aside from state scholarships, and we encourage students to search for college scholarships in Oklahoma from private foundations and non-profit organizations.   • Oklahoma State University:  Students who apply for admission by February 1 of their senior year will receive maximum scholarship consideration. Funding is limited, and awards cannot be guaranteed for students who apply for admission after February 1. All incoming freshman students who are admitted are automatically considered for scholarships. Scholarship selection criteria vary, but can include academic performance, standardized test scores, class rank, and a student's essay responses on the application for admission. Scholarship Deadlines: February 1 - priority scholarship deadline for students entering OSU for the Fall semester. To be considered for all scholarships at OSU you must apply for admission prior to February 1. Applications received after this date may not be considered for all scholarship programs and will be considered only if funds remain available. July 1 - absolute scholarship deadline for students entering OSU for the Fall semester. Once this date has passed OSU will no longer make scholarship offers to entering students; all information must have been received prior to July 1. October 15 - absolute scholarship deadline for students entering OSU for the Spring semester. 
     
  • University of Oklahoma:  OU offers a wide variety of scholarship opportunities for admitted incoming freshmen based on criteria such as academics, leadership potential, community involvement, intended major, extracurricular interests, etc. For the comprehensive list of freshman scholarships for which you may be considered, please visit scholarships.ou.edu. In some cases additional requirements (essays, interviews, auditions, portfolios, etc.) may be necessary. Apply by February 1 at apply.ou.edu to be considered for general freshman scholarships. Academic merit-based scholarships are determined on a rolling basis after admission. To be considered for leadership, community involvement and some departmental scholarships, submit the Common Application and OU supplemental questions by the scholarship deadline. Please note that some scholarships may have earlier deadlines and some scholarship selection committees may begin awarding scholarships earlier. You are encouraged to apply for admission/scholarships early during your senior year of high school.

Mensa Education & Research Foundation Annual Scholarship

  • Residents of Central and Western Oklahoma who will be enrolled in an accredited U.S. institution of post-secoundary education for the 2015-16 Academic Year are eligible to apply for awards up to $1000.

People Smart Scholarship Contest: Social Networking and Privacy

  • $2500 Essay Contest - write a 500-750 word essay over a topic concerning social networking and privacy issues. Applicants will choose one essay question from a list provided.
  • $500 PeopleSmart Creativity Award - if you are not a writer, submit a form of media (i.e. original video, photos, infographics, etc) which answers one of the essay questions.
  • Eligibility Requirements:
    • Applicants must be currently enrolled in a public or private high school (9-12th grade)
    • Be a US citizen or permanent resident of the United States
    • Essay must be 500-750 words and written in English
    • Essay must include at least one piece of supporting evidence cited in MLA format
    • Plagiarism will not be tolerated and will lead to immediate disqualification
    • Submissions are being accepted until April 30, 2014 @ 11:59 pm

Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG)

  • Cut-off date: April 15
  • Try to get information in by end of March; it is important to apply early.
  • FAFSA must be filed by March 1  

 

Oklahoma Higher Access Learning Program (OHLAP)

  • Funding received is based on tuition costs at selected college.
  • Rate sheet will be on-line which will show how amounts are determined.
  • If tuition waivers are received through colleges, OHLAP can be applied to room/board.

Burger King Scholars Program

  • Cumulative gpa of 2.5 or higher
  • Words part-time for a minimum of 10 hours per week or 40 weeks per year
  • Actively involved in community service activities
  • Demonstrates financial need (1040 form required)
  • Plans to enroll in an accredited two/or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school by Fall of application year.

Coca-Cola Foundation Scholarship

    • Step 2.) Click on Apply Here.
    • Step 3.) Complete the registration and log-in screens, and then check the eligibility requirements. Review the detailed instructions and begin your chance to become a Coca-Cola Scholar. You will need our school CEEB code: 370-530; your gpa; and your class rank.
    • Step 4.) Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to apply online before the October 31 deadline.
  • Awarded to 250 high school seniors. Fifty awards are 4 year $20,000 scholarships ($5000 per year) and 200 awards are 4 year $10,000 scholarships ($2500 per year).

2010 KFC Colonel's Scholars Program - Awards are up to $20,000 for tuition, fees, textbooks, room and board. To qualify, a student must be:

  • Graduating from high school this academic year (between 12/1/09 and 8/31/10)
  • Maintaining a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
  • Enrolling in a public, in-state college or university (start date no later than 9/30/10)
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree
  • A US citizen or permanent resident
  • Students complete their application online at www.kfcscholars.org.  
  • Online application will be available from December 1,  through February 10
